Ruth and Raul Herrera adopted two of their cousin’s children from the Dominican Republic when they were babies, Lesley and Alan, who are now seven and five. Lesley was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and Alan was diagnosed with autism, so coming to the United States was ideal for a higher quality of life and medical care. These children mean the world to the Herreras and due to the finances going towards the children, new furniture has been difficult to purchase. Through the 50 Years 50 Families Community Relations Campaign, El Dorado Furniture will provide necessary furniture for the Herrera family.
